RE: IRS Stimulus Check Delay- Direct Deposit

How can you tell when you are suppose to receive the money? Is there a web site which gives the schedule of mail outs. I can't spend it or make any plans if I don't know when I will be getting it. Thanks...........

RE: IRS Stimulus Check Delay- Direct Deposit

We had our tax accountant do the 2007 taxes for us, as we sold the house and did a ton of other different things before full timing. Because we did not do direct deposit on the taxes, now we have to wait for the stimulus check to arrive. At this rate, it is just going into savings anyway, so I'm not really waiting for it.
If you put it in savings, you are doing the same thing we're doing, but we're not following the rules!
To be an "economic stimulus" it has to be spent.
So go shopping!
I keep telling my DW the same thing, but she says no.
We can spend it all for made in Asia products so that they can buy more oil and raise our fuel prices more.

RE: Heads Up, US Gear Braking System Users

First, I'm posting this here rather than the Dinghy forum because more people "hang-out" here (and a lot of people are getting ready for another season of RVing).
Second, if you have a US Gear Braking System, take the time to check it's operation daily. You can easily do this by using the lever on the driver's control to apply the toad brakes when you're moving 2-4 mph. If everything is working correctly, you will quickly come to a stop.
The reason for this recommendation is that there have been problems (at least a few) with the system's control module. See US Gear Problems for more details. The mode of failure can result in the brakes momentarily applying (you feel the play come out of the hitch), but then the brakes release, thus providing no real help in getting stopped in an emergency situation.
Third, the US Gear Braking System is a good system and well worth having. It does have electronics involved and they can fail. By checking them daily, you can be sure they will be there when you need them.
Don't use the manual lever any more than necessary as it will over heat the control board and blow the drive transistors.
US Gear recommends testing using the breakaway switch.

RE: Update on lightning strike and damage

Before you submit your claim, double check that every thing works.
Check both the AC and DC items. AC's, furnace, tv and booster amp, stereos, Refrig (gas and AC), slides ect. Check both plugged in to AC, 50 amp (if that is what you require) and battery only. You will have trouble trying to claim it later.

RE: New roof time (always, sooner or later)

Yea, the underlayment on a small part of it is puffy. I want to get it off, dry it out and renew it. I could get by with a partial renew since it is just a small section on the front left, and then the area right where the front of the membrane meets the front cap is bubbled, but doesn't seem wet under there, just a big air bubble. I may just patch it but the rest of the roof is discolored from years of not having been cleaned (I just bought this coach last fall) so I'm considering doing it all. If not, I may patch the damaged area and liquid roof it. Is Liquid Roof and Liquid Rubber the same product?
They are the same product same manufacture

RE: New roof time (always, sooner or later)

I just saw that your underlayment may be bad, someone needed to use Liquid roof before it got to the underlayment.

Look into Liquid roof or Liquid rubber, it's a great product worked great over the rubber roof on my 1993 Gulfstream.

RE: PA Non-Commercial Class B license

What happens when you buy a greater than 26000 lbs while out of state, per example Florida? How do you go about getting the upgraded license? How do you get the MH back to your licensed state?

RE: Take a toad to Alaska or not???

We took our Explorer and used it a lot, it's heavy but worth it. Even went 4 wheeling a few times.

RE: Ultra low diesel

Mouse milk? That anything like snake oil or horse feathers?
Mouse milk is a penetrating oil used to loosen rusted hardware, I have no idea why someone would want to use it in a diesel engine.

RE: Turn signal not working

If it is like my 1998 Explorer the turn signal/ hazard switch asm may be bad. Just replaced mine, my rh signal would buzz, the problem interacted with the hazard switch. Switches are a common problem on Fords. I got mine thru e-bay autopartswarehouse.com.

RE: Onan Oil Mobil 1 vs. Onanmax

was told by onan not to use synth. and that it would void warranty, also spoke to a couple small engine repair centers and both advised not to use synth.. this is just what i was told.
A 2000 generator should be way beyond warranty.

RE: What is the proper way to drill into fiberglass

In Canada, the bit is called a unibit,it is a step drill and will drill a nice neat hole in your fiberglass, they come in different sizes.
I use them on all of my Aircraft and Helicopter glass panels.
I second the unibit, they do a nice job in fiberglass, Plexiglas and soft metals.

RE: Alaska Caravan

Here is another tour co to investigate. www.rvalaskatours.com
Spike is the tour leader/owner. We went with his tour in 2006.
The first time we found the tour great - we are going back in 2008 by ourselves.
No matter how you choose to get there -- GO!!
We also used Spike in 2002, my wife had serious health issues, I needed the support. It was a great tour with the caravan we were sorry when it ended. We made a lot of new friends on the trip.

not quite Rustydog, your profile indicates now 198 posts but 2 more should make you a senior.
Didn't know that the tracking was in the profile, I kept searching the history.
Thanks for the help.
